Today we conclude the “Chicago Edition” posts with the last 2 days of our New Year’s trip. We continued exploring the city, despite the frigid Chicago temperatures. I should have been used to the cold because Ohio has similar weather, but us Ohioans have been spoiled with spring weather this winter. Anyway, day 2 in the Windy City was pretty tame. Oh, and also FOOD COMA.
*We had switched hotels because of prices, not because of negative experiences*

What We Saw:

Where We Ate: Beatrix & Eleven City Diner
I had previously dined at Beatrix a few years ago, and since then it has become one of my favorite eateries. Their chocolate covered angel food cake muffins leave eternal happiness in your mouth.
I had also previously dined at Eleven City Diner a few years ago, and it remains one of my favorite diners. I strongly recommend trying their mac & cheese, as well as their challah bread chocolate chip french toast–both dishes will also leave eternal happiness in your mouth.
This was our first time at Wildberry. The restaurant is known for their pancakes– they’re mouthwatering! We lucked out because as we were leaving the restaurant, the line was nearly out the door and every table was full. First 2016 workout session begins Monday, January 4th.
Where We Stayed: Fairmont Millennium Park
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at!! What a dramatic difference from the first hotel. The rooms are amazingly spacious, clean, contemporary, plus come with a stellar view. I could have sat on the sofa admiring the view for days. The hotel’s location is great and is within walking distance to several Chicago attractions.
This is the third Fairmont hotel I have stayed at, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience–Fairmont Hotels have set the bar high. If you are ever visiting a city that has a Fairmont, I strongly suggest staying there. The prices are usually reasonable for a luxury hotel and the service will make it worth every penny. I have previously stayed at the Seattle and Boston Fairmonts, both gorgeous hotels that are located near prime city attractions.
