Just this past weekend I binge watched Scandal and it is giving me some serious D.C. withdrawals, so today I will be sharing some info from my most recent trip to Washington D.C., beginning with my outfit details.
Top: Forever 21 | Shorts: Forever 21 (Similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
It is interesting how a trip could be so different years later, even though the stuff we saw remained exactly the same. The first time I went to Washington D.C. was when I was in the 8th grade; it was the standard educational field trip that thousands of students take each year. This time around, I went with my entire family and had a super exciting weekend revisiting all the monuments, strolling through Georgetown, touring the Capital Building, and eating at some of fabulous restaurants.
What We Saw:
Where We Stayed: Lowe’s Madison Hotel
I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting D.C.; it is in a prime location that is close to all of the main attractions throughout the city. The hotel itself is gorgeous, so sleek, yet has a touch of historic charm.
Where We Ate: Rural Society, Ambar, Old Ebbitt Grill, and Georgetown Cupcakes
Rural Society is the hotel’s restaraunt; the breakfast food was beyond delicious! Ambar is a eatery located in Capital Hill that puts a modern twist on traditional Balkan cuisine. The food is served in sample sizes, making it easy for larger groups (like my 12 person family) to share a variety of food. Old Ebbitt Grill is D.C.’d oldest restaurant and bar; we ate breakfast here on our last day–I highly recommend tasting the “Breakfast Club”. Georgetown Cupcakes was our last edible stop whilst in D.C., no visit to the U.S. capital is complete without it–I can write an entire post just on the cupcakes. THEY ARE DELICIOUS!
beautiful look! and I’ve heard so much about the cupcakes – apparently their heaven! 😀
